We all discard a variety of items on a regular basis, and hazardous trash is by far the most difficult to manage ” not least because a
startling number of objects fall into this category! Everything classified as hazardous garbage cannot be thrown in a skip, so it’s critical to
understand how to properly dispose of it from the start.

There are two primary methods for hazardous waste disposal.

We’ll discuss these two choices in further detail shortly, but first, we believe it’s worth underlining why it’s critical to properly dispose of
hazardous trash.

Why Is Hazardous Waste Disposal Critical?

To begin with, the name contains a significant hint. By definition, it poses a major risk to human, animal, and environmental health, which
is why nobody wants it in their lungs or drinking water. One of the few advantages is that it is often quite straightforward to see. Asbestos,
chemicals (such as brake fluid or print toner), batteries, solvents, oils, insecticides, and appliances that contain ozone-depleting
compounds are all considered hazardous trash. Your refrigerator is an excellent example.

Businesses, on average, generate more hazardous waste than homes, owing to the fact that they typically operate on a slightly bigger
scale. That is not to say that households are exempt, and in either case, everyone should always keep a close eye on their output.

Unfortunately, CKB Skip Hire is unable to accept hazardous trash in our skips due to the risk to our employees. However, do not despair;
here are some other methods for disposing of hazardous waste.

How To Dispose Of Hazardous Waste

The first way is to locate a nearby drop-off or recycling location; this is the most common approach used by the majority of individuals.
The majority of recycling facilities take small batteries, automobile batteries, household chemicals, waste electrical equipment, and
household appliances (including your trusty fridge). Some of them accept asbestos, but naturally, others are hesitant, so it’s always
advisable to verify the facility’s capabilities prior to embarking on the voyage. Additionally, some supermarkets provide deposit bins for
tiny batteries, which you can drop off during your weekly shopping and they will make the trip for you.

Alternatively, you can contact a local hazardous waste removal service that will come to your home and collect the material for you. If you
time it well, your local authorities may provide this service on certain days of the week. Occasionally, however, you’ll need to locate a
specialised private service, many of which charge a fee. If you’re short on funds, transporting it yourself may be the best course of action!

We’ve committed to providing you with as much assistance as possible when it comes to hazardous garbage, which is why we’ve
developed a handy reference outlining exactly what you cannot put in a skip. However, there is some good news: we accept virtually
everything else! It’s also simple to get started with skip hire-simply input your postcode and phone number on our homepage and you’ll be
presented with an instant skip hire estimate within moments.
